Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning

Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning

We were certainly filled with joy this morning when we saw the sun rising on the webcams at Mount Rainier.  We were filled with joy, because we were filled with hope.  They were able to put 40 people on the ground and three aircraft in the air.  But when evening fell, we still had no clue what had happened to Michelle or where she and the others are now.  We don't know if she is freezing somewhere.  We don't know if she is walking down.  We don't know if she is praising God in heaven.

Today would have been the obvious day to find them from a natural perspective.  This was the first clear day that they have had in weeks and may be the first clear day for awhile.  But God's ways are not our ways.  I was listening ot The Heavenly Man while I was driving home from church tonight and he said God only cares what his will is.  He doesn't care what our will is.  This may sound harsh, but it is not.  Because God is good and God chooses to love us.  So his will is the ultimate good.

In all this, whatever the outcome, God will be glorified and He will give us the strength to handle the outcome.
I don't know if they will find her tomorrow, or next week, or never.  As a church, we are still asking God for her safe return.  They will be searching hard to reach places that they missed today and the lower roads in hope that maybe they did make it off the mountain.

I'd like for this passage to be a reflection of tomorrow.

I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. Now in my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved." LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. I cried out to You, O LORD; And to the LORD I made supplication: "What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. (Psa 30:1-12 NKJV)

But whatever happens, I will trust and I will praise.
