Dad's latest email

In only 36 hours we leave our hotel for the Guangzhou airport and 25 hours later we are scheduled to be on our final approach to Atlanta. These past 22 days have been a blast with my wife and new boys and new friends and Skyping to the family back home. In an earlier post I misled some when I appeared to be complaining about the length of days in China; I just meant to be explaining how much we were doing each day. We have crammed a lot into our time here and it has been a delight getting to know our boys. This phase is about to end and we will re-enter real life on Wednesday night. I am so looking forward to seeing the mountains of western North Carolina.

We took the oath at the US Consulate today and spent a few hours taking our final opportunity stimulating the Shamian Island economy. Tomorrow we visit the zoo and then have a group picture in the evening; our group had grown to 8 families as two young couples had their Gotcha Day this afternoon. It is great to see so many young couples (4 with our group) reaching out to orphans and offering a home to the homeless. In keeping with a theme often seen on these groups, there are 11 less orphans in the world due to what our group has done this week! Way to go ladies and gentlemen, or, more exactly, mamas and papas!

Thanks for allowing me to emote on here these past 3 weeks!
